A notable college football X account of "Auburn Twitter," may have figured out the future of Colorado football QB target Julian Lewis by deciphering his seemingly contextless photo of a lion.
"Big Cat Weekend, the biggest recruiting event of the year, is this weekend for Auburn," Slander U podcast host "Pablo Escobarner" prefaced before saying, "Auburn is affectionately known as The Jungle. The lion is the king of the jungle. JuJu Lewis, you are an Auburn Tiger."
Lewis choosing Big Cat Weekend to commit would be a move in the "Prime Time" playbook. Speaking of "Prime Time," though, Deion Sanders, as a coach, has proven willing and able to flip top recruits from recruiting powerhouses in the past. Under Hugh Freeze in the NIL era, Auburn has been just that.
But Coach Prime has been a pest in the flip game.
Colorado football would become flip threat if Auburn landed Julian Lewis
Nothing is as it seems in the NIL era of college football.
On the worst side of it, you have the Jaden Rashada-Florida lawsuit for a Gators group, including Billy Napier, not paying up on the current Georgia Bulldog's initial NIL deal as promised. On the less extreme end, you have frequent recruiting flips.
Lewis can commit to Auburn during Big Cat Weekend and set up heartbreak with a Colorado flip. Cormani McClain had no issue flipping from Miami after flirting with UF -- ending up there anyway this offseason --, and Omarrion Miller flipped twice (LSU to Nebraska, Huskers to Buffs) in his recruitment.
CU is a flip threat until the NLI is signed. Coach Prime needs a 2025 class-defining recruit, and Lewis is just that.
Before committing to Colorado, though, the Buffs probably need to start winning games; just as Auburn will need to in order to keep him if Escobarner is correct in his JuJu X post translation.
