Colorado is not in the Week 7 AP Top 25 Poll, but the Buffs did get three votes -- so the voters view Deion Sanders' team as a potential threat down the line. Let's be clear, though: "down the line" can mean after beating K-State at Folsom Field this Saturday.

The bye week treated CU well. Shedeur Sanders caught a WNBA playoff game in Las Vegas, and had rumors of being a Raiders target follow him, while PWO LB Gage Goldberg got to see his father, legendary WWE and WCW legend Bill Goldberg, soak up a rabid Atlanta proud at WWE Bad Blood.

Elsewhere, the college football world imploded around the Buffs. Several top teams were upset, most notably Alabama and Tennessee to Vanderbilt and Arkansas, respectively, and the College Football Playoff suddenly seems attainable. Colorado was starting to be seen as a Big 12 contender, but the sport's lack of dominant pillars outside of Texas and Ohio State (for now) could mean an expedited timeline.

It may not be too long before CU is a Top 25 team. It'll take a big upset to have Colorado considered for a spot, but not getting it would likely mean the end of such conversations for a few weeks; if not the rest of the season.

What is Kansas State ranked?

K-State is No. 18 in the Week 7 AP Top 25 Poll. The Wildcats, like the Buffs, were on their bye week this past weekend. K-State last beat Oklahoma State in a 42-20 beatdown on September 28. They'd be a top-10 team if they didn't get the brakes beat off them by BYU during a 38-9 decimation in Provo.

Beating the Wildcats would give the Buffs their best win of the year. Colorado pulling that off would have most viewing them as either No. 2 behind Utah or the definitive team to beat in the Big 12.

And a nice little number would accompany CU on the chyron for their October 19 matchup in Arizona against the conference's other Wildcats.
