Deion Sanders and the Colorado football program's "governor," Camden Dempsey, both addressed the bombshell report from Athlon Sports' Steve Corder that alleged that Coach Prime promoted fights in his locker room -- and neither gave much oxygen to it.

Sanders touted the team's performance in the classroom while speaking to his oldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., in a video captured by Well Off Media. He also mentioned potential legal action against Athlon Sports.

"That's when they know you are doing well, when they start lying," Sanders said while enjoying a meal at CU's facilities. "Shouldn't there be some kind of penalty or ramification? But nevertheless we have the highest GPA in the history of the school. Wonder how they do that?"

Meanwhile, Dempsey insisted that the Buffs are not letting these reports affect the locker room's chemistry.

"Enough is enough," Dempsey prefaced before saying, "The hit pieces don't have any impact on the team. We are working our hardest, we have a coach that is changing the scope of CFB and that's all we care about"

Deion Sanders and Colorado football bringing up lawsuit would squash rumors

Coach Prime bringing up penalties and ramifications indicates that he understands what the stakes for Athlon Sports and Corder are if their claims are untrue. But if he doesn't take action, it'll be hard to be convinced that the report didn't contain true anecdotes from former players.

There've been whispers about much of the report for months, but there was a severe risk publishing that report considering the anonymous sources. If those players don't want their names and attached, and thus won't provide testimony in court, it's cut and dry in favor of Colorado.

The focus should be on North Dakota State and the 2024 season, but CU now has to deal with the fallout from this report. Their next course of action will speak volumes to the veracity of these highly controversial claims.
