Deion Sanders Jr. found the accusations that Coach Prime forced his Colorado football players to attend the Prime Weekend Lil Wayne concert at the CU Events Center to be laughable, sharing as much on the X platform on June 14.

"Bro this is hilarious," Bucky prefaced before saying, "They basically said he forcing people to listen to his son’s mixtapes."

AthlonSports' Steve Corder reported that many players saw the alleged edict from Deion Sanders that it was mandatory to be at the Weezy show as the "last straw" before they hit the transfer portal during the May cycle.

"The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal," a source told Corder. "When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played."

Mandatory Lil Wayne concert hardly something to transfer from Colorado football for

Leaving Colorado over getting a free ticket to a show that saw tickets rise above $100 on the secondary market feels like an overreaction. A lack of playing time feels more likely to be the culprit than being so upset to spend a few hours out with the team supporting the quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, who performed ahead of Lil Wayne's set.

Coach Prime wanted a buy-in to his culture during Prime Weekend, and largely got that at a competitive Black and Gold game that broke down into Oklahoma drills at midfield with the weather making the playing conditions more dangerous. It seems he simply wanted that after the scrimmage too.

If players found that as a reason to leave? So be it. But plenty of recruits around the country, in high school or the portal, would love the chance to attend a free Lil Wayne show with their teammates.
