Deion Sanders knows how to perfectly butter up Gus Malzahn too

Deion Sanders is a walking masterclass of PR. So, when Malzahn had some flattery to spare for Colorado, Sanders was not backing off either.

If there is one thing that Deion Sanders does undoubtedly well, and better than most, it's talking. So, Gus Malzahn might ooze all his sweet southern self when complimenting Shedeur Sanders and Co., but Sanders had his natural charm backing him up.

In his presser ahead of the UCF showdown, Deion had equally sweet words for Malzahn. When asked about how going head-to-head against UCF is an "honor" for him.

"When I was a high school coach, visiting those guys, taking my kids on college tours, and now to have the opportunity to coach on the same field, it's a tremendous honor," Sanders said in an interview that Mat Smith tweeted.

"The way he gave us love and showed us love and compassion when Shedeur was a sophomore or junior going up to a visit at Auburn, and he offered him on the spot, it was tremendous. I love what he's brought to college football — a lot of similarities. He does it his way, and I love the way he does it. He's unapologetic about the way he does it, and he's with a bunch of Florida boys, which is my home state, which I absolutely adore."

As if it was not apparent, Deion Sanders said loud and clear how big of a Gus Malzahn fan he is: "one of my favorite coaches in college football."

Gus Malzahn is the guy Deion Sanders would call for advice

And that's not all. Deion also had a special hat tip for Malzahn. It is only very rare that you see head coaches connecting after showdowns to collect their takeaways and thoughts. Malzahn is that type of coach for Prime.

"I mean after we play them, I could call him for advice. He's one of the guys that I would call for advice on certain situations that may occur with college football players," Coach Prime added.

While all these words may keep a sweet, amicable relationship between them, they'll still need to battle it out with UCF. Now, UCF won't be too easy to contain as the Knights have put up at least 35 points every game.

This battle will put Shedeur's QB magic to the test.
