That Paul Finebaum said that Deion Sanders would leave the Colorado football program after the 2024 season because Shedeur Sanders, Shilo Sanders, and Travis Hunter are leaving is actually a good sign if you think about it.

Finebaum went on September 8 edition of The Matt Barrie Show and predicted Sanders finding an exit strategy and continuing the "Deion Show" anywhere else but Boulder.

“I don’t think Deion Sanders will be there next year,” Finebaum said. “This season, when they fail to go to a bowl game, he’s going to look around and try to find an exit strategy. No more , no more  — what’s the motivation for him to beat himself up? So, I think enjoy the Deion show. It will be playing somewhere next year. It may be off Broadway. It may be on Broadway. But it won’t be in Boulder.”

Oh no, you may think. Finebaum wouldn't just say something based on hearsay that lacks factual backing.

He would, though. And he has. Finebaum admitted in mid-August that he made up a rumor about Lincoln Riley leaving USC after the 2024 season and Coach Prime replacing him as Trojans head coach.

“I don’t want to back away from anything I’ve ever said, but it was the first week of the SEC Media Days, and you guys have been there both,” Finebaum told the GoJo and Golic Show. “You start throwing things up against the wall, and Lincoln Riley, I probably got a little carried away. I think he’s a good coach. I don’t think he’s a great coach, and I think his record in big games speaks for itself. I just threw Deion out there, and that was prior to the reporting.”

We know one job Deion Sanders isn't leaving Colorado football for

So USC is out as an option for Sanders in 2025 and beyond because it looks like Riley has things figured out in the City of Angels. We also know, though, that the Dallas Cowboys aren't an option because of their extension for Dak Prescott.

With Shedeur not an option for Dallas, Deion isn't either.

We'll hear about Coach Prime leaving Colorado plenty over the next few months but at least we have narrowed down the number of narratives speculating where he might land next.
