Deion Sanders is so over the rumors he's looking to leave Colorado football

Deion Sanders can only reiterate his desire to stay with the Colorado football program so many times before sounding like a broken record.

We're at the broken record portion of his crusade to convince Colorado fans that he's sticking with the Buffs. For those that missed it the first time he said it, Coach Prime isn't a baby daddy, but a father -- and he won't be leaving Boulder just because his sons are leaving.

“Another misconception, I’m gonna leave when my kids leave,” Sanders said on SiriusXM College (h/t On3). “That’s the dumbest thing I ever saw in my life, like, I’m gonna follow my sons. Come on. That’s not a dad.

“No. 1, I don’t care. No. 2 is I think they think it’s about me. It’s never been about me. That’s why I’ve been going for about 30-some years now. It can’t be about you when you’re still going 30-some years later, right? It has to be about them. God blesses me because it’s always about somebody else and is always about another person. It’s not about me. He blesses me because we make sure it’s about the kids, it’s about the families, it’s about the mother, it’s about something else. That’s why God blesses me. I think that may be a misconception.”

Deion Sanders may be deflecting so emphatically because rumors he's leaving Colorado football are true

Many believe it was Coach Prime who orchestrated Paul Finebaum's suggestion that he replace Lincoln Riley at USC. That'd be one good way for Finebaum to fire back at Lane Kiffin for questioning what the SEC Network host is good at.

If that's the case, and Sanders knows he's leaving, then being so visceral in his response is his way of not showing his hand and hiding the truth.

Or he's genuinely sick of talking heads talking about anything but the 2024 season; a make-or-break campaign for not only Coach Prime's tenure in Boulder but for several NFL prospects who have the chance of changing Colorado's reputation as it pertains to going pro after being a Buff.
