Former Colorado football head coach Gary Barnett has the utmost faith in Travis Hunter, but he didn't sound overly optimistic about the Buffs' offensive system otherwise -- claiming that they still "have a chance."

“It’s gonna come down to different systems. It is really hard to predict right now," Barnett said to 365 Sports. "They still have a chance. Travis Hunter is the most special player I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen an athlete that is more skilled and more competitive than Travis."

Hunter has had some wonder whether or not playing on both sides of the ball is best for his NFL career. Focusing on one position would probably boost his draft stock, but you cannot discount the possibility that serving as many roles as possible while helping CU rise in their first Big 12 season in over a decade could do the trick too.

Travis Hunter open to staying in Colorado, being drafted by Denver Broncos

Hunter was resistant to the idea of playing for the Green Bay Packers but sounded open to the idea of staying in the Centennial State and being drafted by the Denver Broncos. Denver likely doesn't need a QB after drafting Bo Nix, so Shedeur Sanders is probably off the table for the Broncos, but Hunter could be an asset on either side of the ball in the Mile High City.

If the Broncos take a step forward in 2024, the odds are lower of landing Hunter, but if the team continues to struggle, No. 12 will be on the board by the time George Paton and Co. are on the clock.

It'd be great for CU fans to be able to see the Buffs on a Saturday and then Hunter and the Broncos the next day. Time will tell if Hunter will get that chance to stay in Colorado during his professional playing career.
