Jordan Seaton might have most important role on Colorado football team in 2024
The Coloradoan's Scott Procter believes there's a case to be made for Jordan Seaton having the most important role on the Colorado football team during the 2024 season: protecting Shedeur Sanders' blindside.
"The No. 1 offensive tackle in the Class of 2024 won't exactly be eased into college football," Procter prefaced before saying, "Seaton will start at left tackle as Sanders' blindside protector from day one, which, depending on how you look at it, might be the most important job on the team. Sanders was sacked an FBS-high 52 times and pressured on 36.8% of his dropbacks last year. Seaton's development throughout his true freshman season will ultimately help determine the ceiling of this offense."
Beyond that, Seaton and the rebuilt offensive line have the responsibility of getting push for what was a serious weakness in 2023, the running game.
"...Seaton is just one of the cogs in a completely rebuilt offensive line for Sanders," Denver Sports' Jake Shapiro prefaced before saying, "More importantly than Sanders safety and how many seconds he has in the pocket—Colorado’s last in the nation running game should have no issue getting push in 2024."
Jordan Seaton one of the most important Colorado football recruiting wins of the "Prime Time" era
Seaton's arrival was the crown jewel of Colorado's offseason on the offensive line and just in general for the Buffs. To take it a step further, Seaton choosing CU over his hometown Maryland Terrapins and the deep NIL pockets of Tennessee was the biggest recruiting win of the "Prime Time" era in Boulder.
Since December, Seaton has been de-emphasized as a story in favor of the transfer portal losses of Cormani McClain, Dylan Edwards, and Omarion Cooper. Because, of course, negativity sells extra as it pertains to Deion Sanders' program.
Make no mistake, though: Seaton could be part of the reason the detractors are awfully quiet this Fall if everything goes according to plan.
