Mandatory Lil Wayne concert rumor dismissed by Colorado football higher-up as 'weird stuff'

Lil Wayne has been pretty invested in the Colorado football locker room. Fortunately, the rumors are being put to rest — as they should.

Lil Wayne has interestingly been on the minds of the Colorado football program, as it has been rumored that their head coach, Deion Sanders, scheduled a mandatory task for the team to attend the rapper's concert.

However, sources have stated that the alleged rumors are indeed false.

The Buffs' strength coach, Maurice Sims, called the rumors "weird stuff."

"Bro, what is up with that," Sims asked (h/t Football Scoop). "People are making up weird stuff.”

One of the returning players on the roster from year one of "Prime Time,"Omarion Miller, stated that none of what was being reported actually happened. Coach Prime never made them attend the concert.

"I seen that," the wideout prefaced before saying, "They crazy for that. He ain't force us to go that."

This whole narrative about Coach Prime forcing his players to attend a concert seems so unreal — unethical, even.

That's a potential conduct policy violation that'd cost Sanders a pretty penny. His assuming such big risks for the reward of a few dozen extra eyeballs on him doesn't sit on the side of the fence dealing with reality.

Mandatory Lil Wayne-Colorado football rumors can now disappear into thin air

One source told AthlonSports' Steve Corder something that, when you look at it now, sounds far out.

"The Wayne concert was the final straw for a few players who hit the transfer portal," a source told Corder. "When Coach Prime told us we all had to be there to support Shedeur as a rapper, they were not happy at all. To be honest, it was nothing but a huge distraction and Daddy Ball was being played."

Thankfully, a higher-up of the program has appropriately handled the whole dilemma correctly, and everyone can move on, focusing on the real task at hand — winning games.

Maybe one day the entire team can attend a Lil Wayne concert in peace and harmony; and without such hyperbolic pro-wrestling drama.
