Husker Corner's Oliver Vandervoort thinks Colorado football players lied about not being forced to go to the reportedly mandatory Lil Wayne concert during Black and Gold weekend -- claiming that players likely knew that Shedeur Sanders was performing.

"It’s plenty hard to believe, first of all that (Deion Sanders Jr.) didn’t know his brother was performing," Vandervoort prefaced before saying, "That was the first reason why this video didn’t do the job he thought it would.

"It’s also hard to take the Buffs seriously when they act like the victims after spending the last two years making it clear that they have no problem sending guys packing for no reason at all other than they don’t fit their view fo what makes a Colorado player."

It's been rumored in media circles that attendance at the Lil Wayne concert wasn't necessarily "mandatory," but rather an NIL deal for which those who attended were paid. So Deion Sanders could be vindicated in that he wasn't directly involved with the edict to CU players.

Colorado football 'governor' believes he knows who spread Lil Wayne rumor

Colorado's "governor," Camden Dempsey, strongly hinted that QB Gavin Kuld was the former Buff who spread the concert rumor.

"I know there’s been one player that’s been talking to the media, just p**sed off how they left the program and upset," Dempsey said (h/t Reach the People Media).

He then sent a biting message to Kuld: find better sources.

"I hope you find better sources because they’re not going to get all that much great stuff out of them and none of that stuff is true."

The rumor war rages on in Boulder. Once the Lil Wayne rumor dies down, something else is going to come up.

Former players are holding vendettas against Coach Prime and Co. and have plenty to reveal. Buckle up, Buffs fans.
