Shedeur Sanders' pitch to star Florida Atlantic receiver LaJohntay Wester could bring Colorado football his experienced linebacker brother, Jaylen Wester, as well according to The Coloradoan's Scott Procter.
"Shedeur and Shilo Sanders play for their father," Procter prefaced before saying, "Brothers Keaten and Destin Wade recently transferred to Colorado from Kentucky. Perhaps Shedeur's public recruitment of Wester has to do with wanting another pair of brothers in Boulder. If Shedeur's recruiting pitch to LaJohntay works, Colorado could not only end up with one of college football's most productive receivers, but also an experienced linebacker who can help shore up a struggling run defense."
Given Wester's skillset, Procter has no questions for why Shedeur would be publicly recruiting the former Owl in the portal via Twitter.
"Wester is virtually impossible to guard 1-on-1, evidenced by his production and film, and with his penchant for explosive plays, it's no secret why Shedeur wants him in Boulder," Procter wrote.
Shedeur Sanders 'could use' LaJohntay Wester's talents in Colorado football receiving corps with Xavier Weaver gone
BuffsBeat's Josh Tolle believes Shedeur could use a receiving replacement for his No. 1 option, Xavier Weaver, who ran out of eligibility and is pursuing a career in the NFL after starring at CU and at USF before that.
"Sanders could use Webster's talents in the Buffs stacked receiver rotation," Tolle prefaced before saying, "He would also be a solid addition with Xavier Weaver heading to the NFL. Colorado's offense looks for more weapons after averaging 363.6 yards per game last year."
Shedeur is bringing back most of his weapons from last year outside of Weaver and Javon Antonio, and also adds Silsbee 4-star Drelon Miller, Vanderbilt star Will Sheppard, TCU's Cordale Russell, and NC State's Terrell Timmons Jr. from the transfer portal.
Evidently, though, he still wants more before his final go-round in Boulder.
