Essentially Sports' Pankti Parmar sees Shedeur Sanders in a more favorable light than his former Pac-12 Heisman peer, Caleb Williams, due to Coach Prime's son showing up for Colorado football and having a persevering mindset in a way the USC QB never did for the Trojans; a take inspired by Kordell Stewart's asking of whether Williams could handle what Shedeur had thrown his way in 2023.

"(Stewart's) interrogation instantly reminded each fan of the picture that earned Caleb Williams some unwanted criticism: him crying while hugging his mother after a horrible loss," Parmar prefaced before saying, "Sheduer Sanders, on the other hand, showed up each time, even with injuries. Which is why Stewart called him, 'The dog and the leader.' This is exactly what Deion Sanders also communicated, just in a different fashion."

Stewart had a stern defense of Shedeur during a Christmas eve appearance on Thee Pregame Show.

“They think it’s Daddy Ball, but when you look at the numbers, you got a generational quarterback in Shedeur Sanders,” Stewart said. “They think it’s Daddy Ball, but when you look at the numbers, you got a generational quarterback in Shedeur Sanders."

Coach Prime challenges Shedeur Sanders to 'not engage in foolishness' ahead of 2024 Colorado football season

Coach Prime had words of advice for Shedeur from the point of view of both a father and a head coach ahead of the 2024 season: stay focused and ignore the background noise, avoiding any trouble along the way.

"Son they're upset with no valid reason to be," Deion Sanders wrote in an Instagram post (h/t Sportskeeda). "This thang is bigger than us but let's show them all the gifts that God has provided. Let's also keep our Peace, Joy & consistently display our Love for this game. CU let's do us and not engage in foolishness."

2024 will be the ultimate prove-it year for No. 2 now that he has capable blocking ahead of him with an overhauled offensive line featuring top high school offensive tackle Jordan Seaton and a bevy of transfers.
