Travis Hunter roasts Deion Sanders in pursuit of his LeBron James shoes
Travis Hunter had jokes for Deion Sanders -- specifically about his amputated toes resulting from blood clots in his legs -- in an effort to coax Coach Prime into giving him a custom pair of LeBron James shoes.
“LeBron’s, LeBron’s … appreciate you,” Hunter said (h/t On3). “I know you sent these to Coach Prime, he ain’t never heard of me though. I like to take shoes. I did my job man. I got some offensive stats and defensive stats.”
“What’s that,” Sanders asked.
“These are the LeBron’s he sent you,” Hunter prefaced before asking, "Can I have them? You don’t need to see them, you ain’t gonna wear them. They too hard for your toes. Yup … He can’t say no when you really want it.”
LeBron James and Travis Hunter's relationship shows how far Colorado has come
Hunter and Shedeur Sanders have attended a Denver Nuggets-Los Angeles Lakers game before, and LeBron made sure to dap them up courtside at the Ball Arena.
Buffs players were never celebrities before the "Prime Effect" arrived in Boulder. Now, Shedeur and Hunter are attending NBA games while making more than a large number of players on both rosters.
Times have changed in Colorado. After years of being a secondary sports city, with the Nuggets, Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and Buffs struggling for so long, the Mile High City is the center of attention.
LeBron is sending custom shoes to CU's head coach. What other time in history could you say that was the case?
