Uncle Neely explains how Shedeur Sanders 'Daddy Ball' is actually just what's done for the greats

Deion Sanders' supposed "Daddy Ball" treatment of his son, Shedeur Sanders, is standard practice -- nothing different from what the New England Patriots/Tampa Bay Buccaneers did for Tom Brady and what the Kansas City Chiefs have done for Pat Mahomes -- according to close Colorado confidant Thee Pregame Show's Uncle Neely.

"They translate that into Daddy Ball," Uncle Neely said (h/t Marca). "It's the same thing the Patriots did with Brady. It's the same thing they do in Kansas City with Mahomes. Anytime you have that level of a quarterback, everything is built around them, and that's the case here in Colorado."

If anything, there's more of a case for Shilo, who has threatened opposing coaches before, to be the beneficiary of "Daddy Ball." As good as he is on the field, he's had his fair share of episodes off of it, and before and after the whistle.

But Shedeur? He's already got first-round pick connotations from NFL front offices and draft scouts and would be the No. 1 reason CU finally had a winning season in a non-pandemic-stricken campaign. Any QB in his shoes would have the NIL opportunities and permission to take part in just about anything off the field.

Shedeur Sanders comparisons to Tom Brady and Pat Mahomes premature

Shedeur is taking a LeBron James-type approach to his pro career. James called himself "The King" and placed surreal expectations on himself from the jump. Shedeur is comparing himself to greats like Brady and Mike Vick while also being compared to the best current player in the world, Mahomes, by someone close to the program.

But all of these comparisons are premature. James, as a point forward on the hardwood, controlled his destiny in the NBA. Shedeur will not in the NFL; being beholden to the offensive line ahead of him, just as he's been in Boulder.

The "Grown QB" could be a man of his word, or become the target of plenty of online slander, in 2025 and beyond depending on where he lands. Coach Prime knows that, hence his NFL draft demands that he's since denied he made.
