Deion Sanders' jumping to the NFL looked more real than ever on Saturday when a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Vincent Bonsignore indicated Coach Prime's interest in the Las Vegas Raiders job. But it took exactly one day for that possibility to be squashed.

As The Athletic's Vic Tafur and Tashan Reed noted that the Raiders have six candidates they actually have interest in: Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, former Jets head coach Robert Saleh and former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.

Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams reports that Johnson, Glenn and Spagnuolo had virtual interviews with the Raiders on Friday, while Carroll is scheduled for an in-person interview Monday.

Buffaloes Wire's Jack Carlough relayed that any Sanders rumors involving someone from Coach Prime's inner circle wouldn't be anonymous.

"My two cents: Anybody willing to be an anonymous source probably isn’t within Coach Prime’s inner circle," Carlough wrote.

"Also, the Raiders have the sixth pick in the draft. Landing Shedeur wouldn’t come easy…"

So what does this all mean? Rumors of Coach Prime's departure from Boulder have been greatly exaggerated. Or, these reports got out far too early and there's a ton of damage control happening right now.

Colorado has been reeling in recruits, so it's not like Sanders has one foot out the door. But Coach Prime talking about his next potential job, even hedging it by saying he loves his Buffs, is notable.
