The offseason is in full swing, which means it’s time for everyone’s favorite pastime—wild speculation!

Today, we’re diving into the Buffs’ 2025 schedule to rank their most winnable games from 8 (easiest win) to 1 (toughest win). Let’s get into it!

8. Delaware

This one’s a no-brainer. If you can’t recognize the logo at first glance, it’s probably an automatic W. No disrespect to the Blue Hens (and Joe Flacco’s legacy), but the Buffs should take care of business here.

7. Wyoming

No disrespect to Wyoming, but this is a game Colorado should win every time. The Buffs have the talent advantage, and while upsets happen, it won't here.

6. Arizona State

Arizona State is in rebuilding mode and heading to Boulder in late November. The Buffs should have the upper hand in this matchup, making it one of the more winnable conference games.

5. Georgia Tech

The Buffs open the season against Georgia Tech on August 30th, likely in primetime. This isn’t a cupcake opener—Tech returns an experienced dual-threat quarterback, which is always tricky for a defense with fresh faces. Colorado’s own new QB will be getting his first live reps, making this one of the tougher matchups.

4. Iowa State

Iowa State was in Big 12 title contention last season and has one of the most consistent coaches in the game. The Cyclones are losing key weapons at wide receiver, which helps the Buffs, and the game is in Boulder. Still, a tough challenge.

3. At Houston

The Buffs' first Big 12 test comes early, and Houston is a team that could be sneaky good in 2025. It’s a road game in September, meaning it’ll be HOT, but CU has actually performed well in warm environments. Houston was frisky last season, but we’re still giving Colorado the edge.

2. BYU

The Cougars roll into Boulder on September 27th, and it’s time for some revenge after that Alamo Bowl loss. BYU always fields an experienced squad (gotta love those 23- to 25-year-old players), and they return their QB. It’s at home, which helps, but this one feels like a toss-up.

1. At Utah

Here’s where things get dicey. Utah has one of the best transfer QBs in the country in Devon Dampier, and this could be Kyle Whittingham’s last ride. The Utes should be MUCH better than they were last year, and CU hasn’t won in Salt Lake City since 2011. The Buffs are coming off a bye, but this is arguably the toughest game on the schedule. Winning this would be about as difficult as Delaware beating CU.

Final Thoughts

The Buffs have a mix of winnable games and major challenges in 2025. The key will be how quickly their new pieces gel, especially at quarterback. If things click early, there’s a path to a solid season—but as always, it won’t come easy.
