Robert Griffin III revealed what would get Deion Sanders to leave the Colorado football program's head coaching role for the NFL: getting to coach Shedeur, Shilo, and Travis Hunter.
"If he has an opportunity to coach his son? Yes," Griffin toldĀ Sports Illustrated. "I think that's the only way Deion takes an NFL coaching job. He's built something at Colorado that is going to be a consistent winner now. I don't think he leaves that to coach somebody else. But if he has an opportunity to coach Shedeur and Shilo and probably try to sneak Travis in there...I don't know if that's gonna happen. If he has a chance to go coach Shedeur, I think he will be. If not, I think he stays at Colorado."
That's a very difficult feat to pull off. No NFL team is in a position to trade for two potential top-three, or even top-two, selections this April. Shedeur has made it somewhat obvious he wants to go to the Raiders, but Travis Hunter has been linked to several different teams including the Patriots, Jaguars, and Panthers.
Coach Prime could probably get both of his sons on one team, though. Shilo will be a day-three pick or an undrafted free agent.
The idea is far-fetched at best. Coach Prime has made it clear he's not interested in dealing with NFL egos. On his roster, but mainly a deep-pocketed owner.
While most want to see Sanders in the biggest spotlight possible, he intends to make Boulder, Colorado just that.
