Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will both play in London during their rookie NFL seasons, the league announced as part of its international schedule release today.
Sanders, with the Cleveland Browns, will face the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 5. Two weeks later, Hunter and the Jacksonville Jaguars are scheduled to take on the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium on October 19.
Both games are part of the NFL’s expanding global footprint, which includes seven total international contests this season, with others hosted in Brazil, Ireland, Germany, and Spain.
Sanders aims to climb the depth chart
Shedeur Sanders is entering a crowded quarterback room in Cleveland, competing alongside Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. Sanders performed well in the Browns rookie minicamp this past weekend, drawing praise for his poise and athleticism. But a final roster spot is far from guaranteed.
In a recent interview with Browns media, Sanders reflected on his transition to the next level.
“I feel like God won’t put me in a situation I’m not ready for,” he said. “That’s why I’m thankful for the city, embracing me how they have been.”
The London matchup against Minnesota marks Cleveland’s first international game since 2017 and could serve as a major opportunity for Sanders to prove himself on a global stage
Hunter may be the focal point of the offense
Travis Hunter, the Jaguars' first-round pick and the most dynamic athlete to come out of the 2025 NFL Draft, has already drawn strong expectations from Jacksonville’s coaching staff. The former five-star recruit worked mostly on offense during rookie minicamp, but head coach Liam Coen has hinted that Hunter will return to playing both sides of the ball once OTAs begin.
“The organization expects a lot out of me,” Hunter told reporters. “They expect me to come out here and play right away, so I’m going to do whatever it takes.”
Hunter’s international debut will take place at Wembley, one of the most iconic stadiums in world football. The Jaguars are no strangers to London, having played there annually since 2013, and were even rumored to move there at one point.
In addition to the London game, Hunter will return to Colorado later in the season when Jacksonville visits the Denver Broncos.
Global exposure for the Buffs program
Both Sanders and Hunter's presence in the international spotlight is another signal of how much Colorado’s brand has grown under Coach Prime. Few college programs in the country can produce two high-profile rookies in a season, and both now find themselves representing their new franchises in front of a global audience.
The NFL’s full schedule is expected to be released tomorrow night, but for Buffs fans, these two dates should already be circled.
