Apparently, Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders have separate Heisman favorites at this point.

Trouble in paradise? The Heisman race is brewing up some conflicting opinions in Colorado. Buffs head coach Deion Sanders thinks that it's about time his son Shedeur Sanders receives some Heisman hype after his spectacular numbers and performance this season.

On the other hand, the "Grown QB" is playing a true team player and vouching for Travis Hunter, the top Heisman candidate, to win the trophy.

"He's so darn good that we don't give him the credit that he deserves for some of the things he does," Sanders said in the post-game presser, truly proud of his son for tallying such numbers.

However, his evident frustration followed shortly after as the aim of his sharp, facetious comment was clear.

"And he's not even mentioned for the Heisman? My bad – he's my son, that's why."

Ironically, when Shedeur Sanders was asked about Heisman, he did not have a drop of his father's resentment. Rather, he was all about his teammate Travis Hunter in his post-game interview.

"It is what it is, I don't really look that deep into that. I just want Travis to win. Travis, he's the best player in college football hands down. And I'm excited for him to win it," Shedeur said.

Colorado heading into second bye week, then in December, a bowl game

Shedeur not getting any Heisman appreciation debate will be here for a while, but for now, both Shedeur and Travis Hunter can catch a breather as they head for their second bye week of the season.

Colorado players and staff would be getting some rest this week and preparing to face Texas Tech on November 9, followed by Utah, Kansas, and Oklahoma State, all games where Colorado is highly favored to win.

If Colorado manages to avoid any losses further, they might as well be looking forward to the playoffs this season, as they just earned bowl eligibility by winning against Cincinnati.

Heisman or not, Shedeur Sanders has everything he needs to permanently leave his mark in college football before he goes to the NFL.
