According to reporter Jordan Schultz, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster as a replacement, presumably replacing Drake Maye.

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix would have been a strong candidate for this if he hadn't gotten injured in Denver's playoff win over Buffalo last week.

Shedeur started the final seven games for the Browns this past season, posting a 3-4 record while throwing for over 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and ten interceptions.

The fifth-round pick took over for Dillon Gabriel, who suffered a concussion in Cleveland's week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

This marks the first time a Browns quarterback has been named to the Pro Bowl since Derek Anderson in 2008.

With head coach Kevin Stefanski's firing and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees departing to join Stefanski in Atlanta, Sanders faces an uncertain future as Cleveland searches for a new head coach.

When a new head coach takes over a team that's struggled with inconsistent quarterback play, they usually turn to the draft or free agency to find their franchise QB.

Sanders performed well enough to earn consideration for the Browns' starting quarterback role next season, especially given the injuries and lack of weapons on offense.

The one thing he needs to hone in on is taking care of the football and eliminating mistakes. Whether it's fumbling or throwing interceptions—granted, some of those passes were tipped—he has to do a better job in that department moving forward if he wants to help the team contend.

The Pro Bowl Games have moved to the Super Bowl's week and location for the first time. They'll take place on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at San Francisco's Moscone Center South Building.
