Former Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders has found himself a new home, and if you’ve seen how he’s been talking lately, it sounds like he is liking Florida.

After going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and while on his world-famous livestreams, he’s already making it crystal clear: he’s loving every second of it.

"Tampa actually is, like living here now, one of the best places to live. I’m not going to lie—I love Tampa."

Hard to argue with the guy. Sunshine. No income tax. Beaches. Opportunity with a playoff team. Sounds like a win to us.

Undrafted, but not undeterred

You’d think going undrafted might weigh heavy on a guy—but not Shilo. If anything, he’s using it as fuel.

Even before the draft ended, he was joking about the whole process. After his younger brother Shedeur slid to the fifth round, Shilo laughed, “Man, if he dropped, I don’t know what’s gonna happen to me!”

Classic Shilo. Never too serious.

Since signing with the Bucs, he’s wasted no time showing that he belongs. During rookie minicamp, Shilo stood out not just for his play, but for his voice. Literally.

“He’s very intelligent, he’s very loud,” head coach Todd Bowles said after camp. “You can hear him making calls… He’s got a good grasp of things from Day 1.”

That’s the same Shilo we saw in Boulder. Vocal leader. High-energy. Confident in the back end. Six years of college ball—South Carolina, Jackson State, then Colorado. His journey has seasoned him in a way most rookies just don’t have.

A new chapter, same swagger

At 25, Shilo is one of the older rookies in the league. That age, plus the unique path through multiple programs and life under the spotlight of Coach Prime, has forged something special in him.

He wrapped up his 2024 season in Boulder with 67 tackles, 2 pass breakups, 1 sack, and a forced fumble. If he can keep up his hard work through OTAs and mandatory minicamp in June, he’s got a legitimate shot at making the Bucs final roster.

The best part? He’s enjoying it.

“It’s a great environment to thrive in,” Shilo said. “Everybody on the team wants to see each other win.”
