If Shedeur Sanders ever get's released from the Cleveland Browns, he’s already got a landing spot waiting for him north of the border.

The Toronto Argonauts just added Shedeur to their CFL negotiation list, according to TSN. That means if Shedeur ever decides the Canadian Football League is his next move, Toronto holds his exclusive rights.

It’s smart business by the Argos. Toronto isn’t just some random CFL team — they just won the Grey Cup again in 2024, stamping themselves as the winningest franchise in Grey Cup history. If Shedeur ever does need a new home, he'd be walking into a championship culture.

Let’s be real though, none of us want to see Shedeur anywhere but the NFL. He's locked in on trying to make the Browns roster, behind veterans Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. It’s a steep climb, but if there’s anybody with the guts and talent to pull it off, it’s No. 2.

Not to mention, financially, the CFL doesn’t stack up with the NFL. Even the top CFL players only pull around $600K a year, which doesn’t even touch the surface of an NFL paycheck. So this really only becomes an option if Shedeur’s NFL dreams stall out.

However, we know how much Shedeur is built differently. He’s not trying to follow the Johnny Manziel path, bouncing from the Browns to Canada. He’s chasing greatness, not a backup plan.

But just in case the road gets bumpy, Toronto is a good option—and a winning tradition.
