While these players didn’t see significant playing time, their departure still marks a shift for the program moving into the 2024-25 season.
Grady Whitt, a 6'3" guard from Raleigh, North Carolina, redshirted his first year and found himself working primarily in practice. Known for his defensive skills and vision on the court, Whitt made his presence felt during drills and practice sessions, even though game minutes were limited.
Nick Randall, a 6'8" forward from Fort Collins, joined the Buffs as a walk-on in the spring and also redshirted his freshman year. He was a standout player in high school, dominating the boards and leading Fossil Ridge to a state title game. Although he never saw much game action, his potential was evident to those who watched him work.
Greg Gerhardt, standing at 6'10", provided depth in the frontcourt as a forward/center. After spending his first year redshirting, he made a brief appearance in a non-conference win against Utah Tech. Although his minutes were limited, his size and potential were noted during practice.
Their time at Colorado may not have been defined by major minutes in games, but their hard work behind the scenes is something that shouldn’t be forgotten. Wherever they go next, the Buffs coaching staff, teammates, and fans should be cheering them on.
