Travis Hunter wants to be the next Deion Sanders. Most cornerbacks at any level should have that as a goal, but Hunter has thoughts about making it real in every way possible -- he believes he, like Coach Prime, could play pro baseball too.

"If y'all don't know, I can play a lot of sports. But you will never know, 'cause I play football," Hunter said, per The Score. "But I could play basketball too. I can run track. I could do long jump, high jump, and track. I can do the mile ... the 400. I could play baseball if I felt like it.

"I ain't gonna lie, baseball, making that money. So I might make the transition soon, be like a Coach Prime, Deion Sanders. Go ahead and get my Ms over there, too, while I get my Ms in the NFL. I could go out there and be a good outfielder for you. I can steal bases for you. I can't hit for nothing, but I can learn that. That ain't hard."

Hunter has made it clear his goal of being better than Sanders, so hearing No. 12 say this isn't necessarily shocking.

"I just want to be better than (Coach Prime). So, me getting hurt last year was a little setback for my stat sheet and how my career went last year. So, I definitely wanted to be better than him and do things that he hasn't done but do it better. So, just looking ahead and saying, 'I can do that and can go out there and dominate.' That just makes me want to do it even more when I'm healthy. So, when I was healthy this season, I did all I can show and hopefully there's more in store, which is more in store, but I'm going to keep dominating as much as I can to be better than my coach," Hunter said.

Hunter has always had massive ambitions. He won the Heisman Award, something Sanders never did, and now aims to do one of the most significant things Sanders did do.

Playing two pro sports in 2025 is a contractual nightmare and probably won't happen. Whichever NFL team drafts Hunter will likely add provisions in his contract that prohibit off-field activities.

But it's a fun thought. And it's fun to have a player like Hunter constantly shoot for the moon in everything he does.
