Get ready for the Deion Sanders coaching rumor mill to once again get fired up.

Since he arrived at Colorado, there's been constant speculation that he wasn't long for the job and would be looking for bigger and better things. He's entering his third season in Boulder, but that chatter hasn't stopped.

Just when it looked like Colorado fans could focus on the season ahead as the Buffaloes face Georgia Tech at Folsom Field in just three days to open 2025, more speculation is soon to ramp up based on what Coach Prime said on Tuesday during his press conference.

In speaking about Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key, Sanders seemed to long for the opportunity that Key has in coaching at his alma mater.

"Coaching at the school you played at's got to be awesome," Sanders said. "It's got to be unbelievable."

Is Deion Sanders planting the seeds of a move to Florida State?

Deion Sanders was an All-American at Florida State before he went on to a Hall-of-Fame NFL career. It's not a secret that he has held an interest in coaching at his alma mater in the past, before he took the job at Colorado prior to the 2023 season.

That opportunity could be on the horizon for Coach Prime. Florida State head coach Mike Norvell is entering his sixth season in Tallahassee, and coming off a 2-10 season, he seems squarely on the hot seat this year.

With back-to-back double-digit win seasons in 2022 and 2023, which included a 13-0 regular season and ACC Championship in 2023, Norvell was the belle of the ball in college football. He was one of the leading candidates to replace Nick Saban at Alabama before the Crimson Tide ultimately decided on Washington's Kalen DeBoer.

Now, Norvell is probably coaching for his job in 2025. Things happen fast in this sport. Norvell's overall resume at Florida State isn't great; his record sits at just 33-27, with two winning seasons in five years. If he can't show tangible signs of major progress this year, the 'Noles may very well be in the market for a new head coach.

If Florida State enters itself into the coaching carousel, then it's not hard to make the leap to who their top candidate might be. There would be a major push from the fanbase to bring Sanders home to Tallahassee.

The FSU job is the one that undoubtedly scares Colorado fans more than all others. It wouldn't be easy for Coach Prime to turn down his alma mater if they came calling.

Fans in Boulder will have a keen rooting interest in the Seminoles this season.
