The 2025 season is right around the corner, and Coach Prime has his work cut out for him as he looks for the next batch of leaders and certified "dawgs" on this Colorado Buffaloes squad. With a loaded roster, CU is shaping up to be one of the most exciting teams in the country. But who will set the tone on the field and in the locker room?

The Dawgs

Every great team needs players who bring that relentless, never-back-down mentality. CU's got a few that fit the mold.

  • Zy Crisler (OL): When your O-line coach stamps you as a "dog," you take notice. The former Illinois standout brings toughness and experience, starting 30 games in the Big Ten. He's a mauler in the trenches and a key piece in establishing CU's run game.
  • Tawfiq Byard (S): Byard plays with the kind of edge you want in a defensive leader. He’s physical, smart, and sets the tone on the back end of the defense.
  • Jehiem Otis (DL): A monster in the middle, Otis will anchor the defensive line and give opposing QBs nightmares. His presence alone makes CU one of the most formidable fronts in the Big 12.
  • Omarion Miller (WR): Miller is a big play waiting to happen. With elite athleticism and a knack for making highlight-reel catches, he’s got all the makings of a true "dog" at the receiver position.

The Leaders

Being a leader on this team isn’t just about playing at a high level—it’s about commanding respect and setting the standard.

  • Jordan Seaton (OL): A five-star recruit and the anchor of CU’s offensive line, Seaton is already stepping into a leadership role. His work ethic and presence make him an easy pick for the coveted "L" on his jersey.
  • Kaidon Salter (QB): Salter isn’t just competing for the starting job—he’s commanding the huddle. A natural leader, he’s been the face of programs before and has the confidence to take charge of CU’s offense.
  • DJ McKinney (CB): McKinney leads by example, playing the most defensive snaps last season. He doesn’t talk much, but his play speaks volumes.
  • Martavius French (LB): French is the vocal leader on defense. Coaches are already looking to him to set the tone, and he’s embracing the role.

With the mix of vocal leaders and battle-tested dawgs, Coach Prime’s Buffs are shaping up to be one of the most competitive teams in the Big 12 in 2025. The culture is being built—now it’s time to see who rises to the occasion.
