Colorado Buffaloes Football: The tide is finally turning in Boulder
By Shay McBryde
Colorado Buffaloes football is finally turning the tide in Boulder. Stand out star and leading receiver for Baylor University has committed to Colorado. Sneed led the Baylor Bears in catching and receiving yards in 2020 and finished in 2nd in 2021. This five year transfer is coming to bring life back into Colorado, after so many players have entered the transfer portal. It is nice to finally have a bright spot and hope for the offensive side of the ball.

Sneed helped the Bears this past season to a 12-2 record, and they went on to win the Sugar Bowl. He finished this past season with 46 receptions and 573 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. This 6 foot 1, 203 pound target from Cypress Texas has been productive since the minute he stepped onto the field. He only played four games his first year but in 2019 he came on to catch for 417 yards and 3 touchdowns, in 13 games. 2020 was an even better campaign and in less games. He caught for 497 yards in 9 games, and added another 3 touchdowns. Sneed is a player who has only gotten better year after year. A seasoned wideout who knows how to score, catch, and lead is exactly what this offense needed and so desperately missed.
With one year left of his eligibility remaining, he chose Colorado to finish out his NCAA career. Just the gift that the Buffs fan needed after losing star running back Jarek Broussard to the transfer portal. A new wide receivers coach has yet to be announced, but with a successful coach at the helm Sneed could take this team far just as he did for Baylor. He also graduated at Baylor with a degree in health, kinesiology and leisure studies back in 2020, and starts classes this week at Colorado. It was finally a Sunday with some good news.
The Buffs also landed offensive lineman Van Wells. Wells committed coming out of C.E. High School in Houston Texas. He is listed as a top 75 interior lineman in the nation. With many scholarship offers he decided to call Boulder his home.

After a tough start to the week things have started to shift in Boulder for the better. Big things are coming for this team. In order to have that big changes had to happen. We will miss the guys who left and cherish the guys who stayed and are coming in. Offensive coordinator Mike Stanford even weighed in on twitter about the changes we have seen, and the future of the team.
As we get deeper into the off season each day possess a little more hope and a little more excitement for what’s to come. It’s a young but hungry squad. The coaches are excited, the players here are happy to be here and anxious to make an impact. We should all be thrilled to have a team in place where loyalty and hard work reign supreme.
