In the 1983 inaugural season of the USFL the Michigan Panthers won the league championship. Their last appearance was in 1984 just before they merged with Oakland. The USFL didn’t last long after that sadly. In November of 2021 all that changed and they relaunched the league back into existence. Can Michigan once again take back what theirs? Former Buff great Devin Ross looks to be a big part of that change in the future, and bring back the Panther greatness the USFL once knew.

Ross began his college career in Boulder in 2013. In Colorado’s history he ended his career finishing 8th all-time in receptions, and 12th in receiving yards. To this day he is still at the number 19th spot in receiving touchdowns.

He hails from Los Angeles, California and began his professional career with the Tennessee Titans in 2018 as an undrafted free agent. A year later he made his journey to the Philadelphia Eagles but he was released shortly with a non-football injury. From then on Ross went to the New England Patriots and was signed to the practice squad

Devin was selected as the Panthers second pick in the eight around of the Supplemental Draft. He has been around the NFL long enough to have learned from some of the greats, especially in New England. Though he never got to play much as a professional in a game setting he has been around championship quality teams and knows the kind of success it takes to win. Before that, he was one of Colorado’s most successful wide receivers. His numbers are still high in the record books in Boulder to this day.

He now joins Delrick Abrams and Drew Lewis as the Colorado Buffaloes drafted into the newly reformed USFL. We know you’ll all make Buff Nation proud! Shoulder to shoulder. Good luck this season boys, we’ll be watching.
