Colorado Buffaloes guard and graduate transfer

Eli Parquet

will enter the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility.

Parquet appeared in just 18 games this season for the Buffs while averaging 6.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists. His season came to an end after suffering a season-ending foot injury which plagued him for most of the season.

This coming just a day removed from Evan Battey‘s decision to go the professional route. Battey and Parquet were the two most experienced players on this roster which played all underclassman outside of the two.

Colorado went 23-9, 14-6 in the Pac-12 in 2020-21 as they made the NCAA Tournament. Parquet played a part in that success. The guard was named to 1st Team Pac-12 All-Defense team while posting a 1.4 Defensive Win Shares and 4.3 Defensive Box Plus/Minus.

Losing Battey and Parquet are definite blows to this young Buffs team but the experience they gained from this past season should set them up well in the Pac-12.

Colorado will be awaiting the decision of forward Jabari Walker and whether or not he decides to go the professional route as well.

If Walker stays, this team has the potential to make it back to the NCAA Tournament.

Nique Clifford gained some valuable minutes and experience this season in the absence of Parquet. The sophomore started 17 of the 33 games he appeared in, averaging 6.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists — nearly identical to what Parquet averaged with just a few more rebounds.

Colorado should be set up well with all of the returning players, including players such as Quincy Allen, Javon Ruffin and Lawson Lovering who all missed time due to injury.

The Buffs have reinforcements on the way with 2022 recruitments Joe Hurlburt and RJ Smith as well.
