Top Colorado football Shedeur Sanders receiving target Xavier Weaver achieved a first-half hat-trick against Stanford during the two teams’ Week 7 October 13 showdown at Folsom Field — catching two touchdowns and scoring another on a reverse play.

Gopher Hole’s Tony Liebert believes the star power of Weaver, Shedeur Sanders, two-way star Travis Hunter, and Coach Prime makes the Buffs a must for the late-night slot, known affectionately on Saturdays as Pac-12 After Dark, each week.

“Colorado should always play in the late-night timeslot,” Liebert prefaced before saying, “This team in the standalone window is must-watch TV no matter who they’re playing. Deion Sanders has made a 7-5ish football team one of the most entertaining in the sport. Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and Xavier Weaver are tremendous talents + seeing all the Hollywood stars on the sidelines is tremendous television.”

So much for Coach Prime’s ‘pitch count’ for returning Colorado football star

Having Hunter back assuredly helped Weaver score multiple touchdowns during a spectacular half of football for the Buffs. In his first game back following a lacerated liver from a dirty hit from Colorado State DB Henry Blackburn during Week 3’s Rocky Mountain Showdown after missing the ASU, USC, and Oregon matchups, Hunter had 70 receiving yards and a highlight-reel touchdown on five receptions.

So much for that “pitch count” Coach Prime had previously mentioned in order to not overwork his two-way superstar, though. Not that any Buffs fan should be complaining about seeing No. 12 on the field for as many snaps as possible.
