Colorado football is set to face an “offseason of roster additions” as opposed to a quick rebuild relays AthlonSports’ Kevin Borba — who acknowledged that the final five games of the 2023 season will likely be the catalyst for what could be a mass portal jump at the behest of Coach Prime.

“Colorado is currently sitting at 4-3 on the year, and needs to win two games to make a bowl game,” Borba prefaced before saying, “In their final five games, three of their opponents are currently ranked, and four of them have been ranked at some point this season. There’s a good chance they will be underdogs in all five games, and what looked like had the makings of a quick rebuild, is now looking like Deion Sanders and company have another offseason of roster additions ahead of them to improve.”

The Buffs brought on a transfer class that meshed well enough to get out to a 3-0 and 4-2 start this season, and in the final year of the Pac-12, perhaps Colorado football has a few tricks up their sleeve to make a bowl game with two wins in their final five games; earning the chance to deliver Deion Sanders his first postseason victory. But if there’s one thing that’s for certain, it’s that the defense and offensive line will both have new personnel in 2024.

Coach Prime’s hot Colorado football start compared to ‘Linsanity’

The muse that had Borba thinking about the offseason of change that is surely to come was The Ringer’s Cousin Sal going on The Bill Simmons Podcast and comparing Coach Prime’s first two months in Boulder to Jeremy Lin’s first few games as a member of the New York Knicks.

“The Deion movement may be Linsanity,” said Cousin Sal. “It might be.”

Sal Lacano threw some evil at Colorado there considering Lin left the Knicks in free agency that summer after a dispute between his agency and New York’s front office due to contract compensation.

Let’s hope the “Deion movement” lasts beyond a one or two-year timeframe in Boulder.
