Coach Prime and Co. told Colorado football 2025 quarterback commit Antwann Hill Jr. before he chose Boulder what Nas once told Queens, uptown Manhattan, Brooklyn, Mount Vernon, Long Island, Staten Island, and the South Bronx: the world is yours.

Hill committed to the Buffs on October 20, choosing Colorado over traditional recruiting powerhouses like Penn State, Florida, and Alabama. The Warner Robins (GA) Houston County High product credited the recruiting achievement to Deion Sanders’ coaching staff telling him that he’ll one day take over the program from Shedeur Sanders.

“What led me there is, first, their communication,” Hill said (h/t On3). “They always communicated with me since the time 12:00 am hit that morning on Aug 1st. To sum it up I can tell they really care about me and want me to take over the program when Shedeur leaves. So whenever coach Prime said that, I knew he was being 100% honest with me and I knew I would be a fool not take this opportunity that coach Prime had provided me with.”

Colorado football program stability will keep future recruits in Boulder

Something Hill revealed in his explanation was a key indicator that the Colorado football program shouldn’t be hasty to fire coaches at the end of the season even if certain goals, like bowl eligibility, aren’t reached.

“The coaches I’m closest with are coach Pollack, coach Box, coach Corey, coach Lewis,” Hill prefaced before saying, “So like I said, it’s a lot of love being shown around at Colorado for me to have all those guys just close with me. In like 3 months shows a lot because some coaches would text me here and there and every other day, but those guys stayed on me real hard and texted and called everyday checking up on me and seeing how things were going. So for other recruits out there, y’all need to go ahead and come to Colorado and get that real love from a coach that’s walked it and talked it from the college level to the NFL.”

Members of the current coaching staff helped get Hill here, so program instability could be a potential deterrent as the Colorado football program looks to avoid a flip for Hill (or anyone) in this transfer portal-heavy world of college football we live in.

Specifically, since Hill mentioned taking over the said program.
