The annoyingly pushed suggestion to Coach Prime that he should leave the Colorado football program for the NFL is “not the road” for Deion Sanders’ future according to BuffsBeat’s Josh Tolle — who was in full agreement with the Buffs coach; who deemed coaching unmotivated millionaires a “true problem.”

“Deion Sanders pushed Colorado back into the national spotlight,” Tolle prefaced before saying, “For the first time in three decades, the Buffaloes are the talk of the town and have prompted NFL rumors for Coach Prime. It might be a dream for other coaches, but it’s not the road for Sanders.”

Sanders said no three consecutive times to lead off his answer on the November 7 edition of The Dan Patrick Show to the pesky pro football question.

“No. No. Not whatsoever,” Sanders said. “I don’t think I’m built for the NFL. I appreciate the game so much, and I respect the game so much and what the game has consistently done for me for a multitude of years.

“When I see a guy getting paid millions and millions and millions of dollars and has no respect for the game and does not want to excel and exceed expectations in the game, I’m going to have a true problem.”

Colorado football being disrespected with constant NFL questions for Coach Prime

It’s a bit excessive for the media to repeatedly imply that there’s nothing to build in Boulder for Coach Prime and Co. by suggesting he already should make the jump to a larger program or the pro ranks.

Colorado has justifiably lost fan interest over the past several decades, but there will always be a built-in contingent of those proud of the Centennial State’s only Power Five athletics program.

Writing that off and trying to project Coach Prime to be anywhere but the University of Colorado is blatant disrespect. Unfortunately, immediate gratification for the doubters — something that has proven elusive for most of the second month of the 2023 season and figures to down the stretch of the season as well — is the only way to silence it.
