Coach Prime is in love with his role with Colorado football and has said on multiple occasions that Boulder is where he wants to be.

The concerns over Deion Sanders leaving the Centennial State are at a high right now, though, following CU’s fourth straight loss to Arizona in Week 11 and multiple coaching jobs, including Texas A&M’s, opening up.

At this point, we should all trust Coach Prime will keep his word and stay with the Buffs over the long haul, but there is one job, that if it became available, could likely make Sanders change his mind.

Coach Prime would leave Colorado football for Alabama

If the job at Alabama becomes available due to Nick Saban’s retirement, Coach Prime would be interested in that opportunity as both a graduate of local Talladega College and as someone likely looking to become the best at what he does; in this case, coaching college football.

If Alabama loses the Iron Bowl and then goes on to lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship game as well, maybe Saban’s retirement timeline will speed up significantly. In that case, the idea that Sanders will stay in Boulder for at least two years becomes a question mark.

Coach Prime is known for his ability to recruit, but if he has the Alabama brand behind him as well, he’d be able to get any player that he wants in the country. Sanders would be welcomed by all in Tuscaloosa if he steps in and replaces the legendary Saban with a similar level of success. The idea of replacing a legend and helping push the brand further would be something Deion would love to do knowing his previous two-sport ambition as a player.

Forget LSU being DBU if Coach Prime landed with what’d need to be dubbed the “Prime Time” Crimson Tide. And perhaps also forget about winning a College Football Playoff Championship if an elephant isn’t your mascot.
