Something’s going on with Felix Ojo—and we have every reason to pay attention. Even if it's delusional.
The five-star offensive tackle from Mansfield, Texas just canceled his official visit to Oklahoma, and that move could quietly speak volumes. Ojo, the No. 6 overall player in the class of 2026 and the top offensive tackle in Texas, had a May visit with Coach Prime and the Buffaloes.

The No. 6 Recruit in the ‘26 Class was scheduled to visit the Sooners June 20th

And now, the Sooners are out of the picture.
Officially, Ojo said the Oklahoma visit was “not needed.” Hmm.
From long shot to real contender?
Colorado wasn’t even in the same recruiting orbit for guys like Ojo a few years ago. But that’s what makes this so fascinating. Under Coach Prime, the Buffs have flipped the script fast. Elite talent now see Boulder as more than a nice visit—it’s a real option.
Ojo still has a final official visit lined up at Texas on June 13, and Michigan’s right there in the thick of it too. But after his Boulder trip, something shifted. Colorado isn’t just on the board—they might be closer than we think.
The 6-foot-6, 275-pound lineman has NFL tools: long arms, freaky athleticism, and a rare motor for someone that size. He’s still young for his class but already looks the part of a future top-10 draft pick. His mean streak on tape jumps off the screen. His discus numbers (119 feet as a sophomore) only reinforce how strong he is.
And when Ojo came to Folsom on May 3, the Buffaloes rolled out the red carpet.
Prime’s message is landing
Ojo’s visit to Boulder was part of Coach Prime’s biggest recruiting weekend yet. He wasn’t the only blue-chipper on campus—four-star RB KJ Edwards, EDGE Jake Kreul, and ATH Jalen Lott were all in town too—but Ojo was the headliner. He’s the type of prospect who changes the trajectory of a program.
And it wasn’t just the hype that impressed him.
“I feel like Coach Deion is changing the game over there at Colorado,” Ojo told On3.
That’s the kind of quote that sticks.
He’s been to Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Ohio State, Florida, and Michigan. He’ll finish up with Texas this week. But it’s Boulder that might’ve surprised him the most—and made the biggest impression.
From overlooked to overachieving?
Colorado’s 2026 class is still sitting outside the top 80 nationally with just two commitments. But that doesn’t tell the full story. Coach Prime has never recruited for quantity. He recruits for impact. And if Ojo ends up a Buff, it would be one of the biggest wins of the Deion Sanders era—no matter what the final rankings say.
What Ojo sees in Colorado is something no recruiting database can capture: belief. Coach Prime is selling vision, identity, and legacy. He’s showing these players that Colorado isn’t just on the rise.
And if Felix Ojo buys in, he’d become the face of that arrival.
So, what happens next?
That’s the million-dollar question.
Ojo still has a few weeks before a decision, and the Texas Longhorns will get the last word. But the Buffs are lurking. Quietly. Steadily. Like a team that knows it already landed a punch.
Was the canceled Oklahoma visit a sign that Boulder left a lasting mark? Or just a blip in a long recruiting process?
We’ll find out soon enough.
But one thing’s for sure: this story isn’t over.
