Analyst makes bold prediction on pivotal moment in Shedeur Sanders' Heisman campaign
Shedeur Sanders' Heisman candidacy is about to get more interesting this weekend, as DNVR Buffs reporter Scott Procter believes. Texas Tech hosts a bowl-eligible Colorado after their bye week, which is a crucial game since the College Football Playoff rankings, and the Big 12 championship, are in question now.
But defeating Texas Tech will have some sweet, sweet results for QB Shedeur Sanders.
"Shedeur Sanders will have his best game of the season (so far) this weekend vs. Texas Tech. It's a dream matchup for Sanders and the ' offense," Procter wrote on X, explaining why Sanders is expected to play exceptionally well.
Colorado needs a good thrust in college football rankings sure, but this game has more than that in store for Coach Prime and his son.
"The kind of performance that can officially launch his Heisman campaign," Procter adds further, believing that this win can also give Sanders' Heisman odds a good thrust too.
It has been weeks since Deion Sanders expressed disappointment with his son getting lower credit in the Heisman race, and has been fervently advocating for his son's efforts to be recognized. This could be Prime's golden chance to get Shedeur up another rung in the Heisman ladder.
Travis Hunter's Heisman promise to Shedeur Sanders
Travis Hunter knows his high odds of winning the Heisman trophy. He also knows about his head coach being pissed about his son not getting enough appreciation and that Shedeur Sanders genueinly wants Hunter to win the Heisman.
While he can't get himself out of this "Heisman triangle," Hunter can at least reciprocate the heartfelt admiration that the CU QB holds for him. Hunter did just that with his promise to Sanders during their podcast sit-down.
"You know what I’m going to do bro? I’m going to wear a watch, just for you bro,” Hunter said on 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders, when speaking about an "if situation" about Heisman. “First thing I’m definitely doing is wearing a watch. Just so I can hit it (Sanders’ iconic celebration). I’m definitely going to wear a watch, just for you.”
However, their true-to-the-core friendship will not likely stop the quarterbacking Sanders, or Coach Sanders, from putting up a show for the Heisman Committee.
