The wait is over - thankfully! With all the time that kept passing by, people continued to feel worse for Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He was once mentioned as a Top 3 pick, but he somehow fell to the fifth round.

At pick No. 144, however, the Cleveland Browns decided enough was enough, moving up via a trade with Seattle to draft Sanders. This is a bit head-turning, as the Browns could have drafted Sanders during Day 2, but Cleveland went with Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel instead. Will the Browns have spots for both QBs once Week 1 gets here?

As soon as Sanders was drafted by Cleveland, Mel Kiper Jr. was probably the most relieved man on the planet other than the star signal-caller. He slid all the way to the fifth round and Kiper remains adamant that he should have been a high first-rounder:

The Cleveland Browns officially ended the draft nightmare for Shedeur Sanders

Come this summer, Sanders will be in quite the battle to win a spot with the Browns. Things are lining up for him and Gabriel to battle it out for a spot. Maybe a stunner will come and he'll push for the starting job for Kevin Stefanski?

That's unknown, but what we do know is that Sanders should be ticked off right now over how much he dropped. Sanders being a Day 3 pick is something that no one even thought would be a possibility just a few days ago.

He 100 percent needs to use this as motivation to prove to everyone that he indeed should have been a first-round pick and that the fall to the fifth round was a complete and total joke. Sanders is now going to have plenty of eyes on him with Cleveland, which suddenly has a crowded quarterbacks room.
