BYU's coaching staff isn't fooling themselves ahead of the Cougars' Alamo Bowl matchup against Colorado on December 28.

BYU offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick shared his respect for Hunter, noting that he's never seen anything like him in college football.

“He is an unbelievable player,” Roderick said of Hunter, per Deseret News. “To play 100-and-something snaps every game, and be that good on offense, and then cover people the way he does in the fourth quarter of games, after he has played 100 plays, I have never seen anything like it. Lots of respect for him.

Cougars defensive coordinator Jay Hill called Hunter “one of the best athletes in the country” but made sure to state that his defense will be honed in on more than just Hunter and Buffs quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

“I know the players are super excited about defending these guys. It is not just (Hunter),” Hill said. “They have other guys too that we are going to have to raise our level of execution and just how we play. So, it will be fun, and a great challenge.”

Both teams have lost players to the transfer portal, so the Alamo Bowl will see somewhat of a watered-down version of both programs. But with Hunter and Shedeur showcasing their talents one last time in a CU uniform, it will be an emotional and meaningful night on Colorado's side of the equation.

It'd be a momentum-builder for BYU to shut Hunter and Shedeur down in their final college game. But that's certainly easier said than done.
