Coach Prime always has a good message.
Whether it’s about football, life, or handling the spotlight, Coach Prime keeps it real. With the Colorado Buffaloes heading into spring break, Sanders took the opportunity to drop some wisdom on his players, reminding them that temptations are everywhere—but their future is more important.
Before sending his team off, Sanders addressed them in classic Prime fashion, blending motivation with a fatherly warning.
"You're very popular. You got this white, black, and gold on and everybody knows you. They're going to entice you to do some things that you don’t normally do, or some things that you used to do, that you no longer want to do. You got to let that go, you got to walk away."Coach Prime addressing the team
Sanders' message wasn’t about fear, it was about discipline.
He challenged his players to avoid unnecessary distractions and stay focused on their goals. With Colorado trying to build on a 9-4 record in their first season in the Big 12, leadership and maturity will be key to keeping the trajectory upward.
The Buffaloes will be back on April 1, ready to resume spring practices before the annual spring game on April 19. While traditionally an intrasquad scrimmage, we have covered extensively how Sanders has suggested facing another team. Syracuse coach Fran Brown and Texas Tech Joey McGuire have already expressed interest in making it happen, adding an exciting wrinkle to CU’s offseason.
One thing is clear—Coach Prime isn't just coaching football. He’s coaching young men to be better on and off the field. And if the Buffaloes take his advice to heart, they’ll be in an even better position for success in 2025.
