Colorado football won't be Big 12 Championship-bound. Losing to Kansas cost CU that dream in Week 13.
The Buffs could end up in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, or most interestingly, the Las Vegas Bowl, the potential future home of Shedeur Sanders if the Raiders' interest turns into a first-round selection of the "Grown QB" in April.
"The fanbase is likely going to travel to Las Vegas, San Antonio, or San Diego for that bowl game, Prime is right about that," Denver Sports 104.3's Jake Shapiro wrote of Deion Sanders' announcement that his players will be in uniform representing the University of Colorado Boulder after a 52-0 win over Oklahoma State on November 29.
“Our kids are going to play in the bowl game because that’s what we signed up to do and we’re going to finish,” Sanders said. “We’re not going to tap out. That throws off the structure of next season. A couple of teams, take note, laid an egg and haven’t recovered since. We don’t plan on doing that. We’re going to go out there and fight like we did today, regardless of where we are. I wish we had a say in the bowl because I want to go somewhere near that our fanbase can get there economically because I care about them that much. I think we have one of the best fanbases in the country… I love them, I have seen it go from nothing to something. We had a lot to do with it.”
After dedicating a bowl game berth to CU superfan Peggy Coppom, Sanders was never going to let his top players sit out. NIL also has something to do with that in this pay-for-play world of college football.
