Colorado football has secured a visit with 5-star Alabama WR Caleb Odom, Julian Lewis's teammate at Carrolton High School. Odom had just seven catches for 65 yards in 2024, not finding the end zone once in Tuscaloosa.

Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer shouted out Odom and fellow receivers Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice following their departures on December 9.

"I think they're aware that, you know, that just our style of offense this year, it was all about whatever it took to win," DeBoer said (h/t Tuscaloosa News). "And I'll credit those guys. They did a great job of doing whatever they needed to do to help us win.

"We got a lot of unselfish guys, you know, that from year to year is going to change and evolve based on the personnel we have," DeBoer said. "The style is going to be different. It might not just be your quarterback. It might be, you know, the number receivers or tight ends. Yeah, we're going to try to have some guys that fit a little bit of what we envision it being down the road. But that's kind of what I really appreciate about our guys is it was all about whatever it took to win. Them taking a back seat to whatever it would take to do that for them individually. And all those guys did that."

DeBoer's Alabama program figures to be on the downswing after missing the College Football Playoff. CU's 9-3 season figures to have the opposite effect, with many top transfer portal recruits putting Boulder on their radar this cycle.

Assuming Lewis isn't usurped by a veteran QB from the portal, the Carrolton teammates could power the Buffs' offense with Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, and Jimmy Horn Jr. having moved on.
