Colorado makes final top eight schools for elite 2026 tight end

On Friday morning, tight end Gavin Mueller of South Elgin High School in Wheaton (IL) revealed his final eight schools on social media.

Colorado made the final cut along side other schools which included Notre Dame, Purdue, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, North Carolina State and Wisconsin.

Mueller holds a 247Sports Composite Rating of 0.8567 and he is ranked No. 760 overall nationally. The Illinios native also is ranked as the 36th overall tight end, as well as the No. 20 player in the state of Illinois. 

Mueller is still new to football and has only been playing the sport for two years, as he moved from the hardwood to the gridiron he has made the most of his time with over 20 offers quickly.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pound tight end says a decision is likely to come within a few months.

“100 percent. I want to be committed by June, and if everything goes good, I want to probably commit to the school I'm going to on my OV.”
