The season is now on the brink for Coach Prime and Colorado after Saturday night's 35-21 loss to TCU on the road. Colorado fell to 2-4 and 0-3 in Big 12 play, effectively ending any outside chance the Buffs may have had at a Big 12 title, and worse, making it increasingly less likely that they'll even muster the six wins needed to make a bowl game.

It's been a disappointing year in Boulder, with one thing after another every game piling up and keeping Colorado from earning wins.

This week, Colorado blew a 14-0 lead against TCU, getting outscored 35-7 the rest of the way. Turnovers plagued the Buffs in Fort Worth. You aren't going to beat a quality opponent when you lose the turnover battle 4-0.

Kaidon Salter threw three first-half interceptions in a performance that should prompt a change at QB. At 2-4, Deion Sanders has little to lose moving forward; you may as well hand the keys to Julian Lewis and let him learn on the job from here on out.

Salter threw a pick on the first drive of the game, threw another after TCU had just cut the lead in half, leading to the Horned Frogs tying the game, and then threw his third pick right before the end of the second quarter as he tried to force the ball into the endzone.

Those turnovers were backbreakers, but they weren't the most consequential. No, that came in the fourth quarter after a controversial offensive pass interference call gave Colorado the break it needed in a tie game. A TCU punt bounced off the back of a Colorado player, allowing TCU to jump on the live ball and take over deep in Colorado territory. Three players later, the Horned Frogs were in the endzone for the go-ahead score.

Colorado cannot get out of its own way and it continues to cost them

Colorado came into this game desperately needing a win. With a difficult schedule ahead, falling to 2-4 would not be tenable to making a bowl game. Instead, Coach Prime's team did what they've done time and time again this year: folded in key moments to lose the game.

Even in spite of the three first-half interceptions by Salter, Colorado had plenty of opportunities to win this game. It was the same story last week against BYU, and the same story in the season-opening loss to Georgia Tech in late August.

Colorado continues to find creative ways to lose winnable games. It's frustrating for Coach Prime and the entire Buffaloes fanbase. And, unfortunately, time is running out to fix it as 2025 is beginning to look more and more like a lost cause.
