With another commitment, Deion Sanders and the Buffs remain hot in the Transfer Portal, this time gaining a commitment from a standout linebacker from Bowling Green with one of the best names in college football: Gideon ESPN Lampron.

Gideon ESPN Lamrpon's commitment brings more defensive reinforcements to Colorado

The three-star Gideon 'ESPN' Lampron fills a position Colorado so desperately needs.

This past season, the linebacker collected 119 tackles, 17.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, and one pass deflection for the Falcons.

For a linebacker room that wasn't up to par last season, Colorado will need his leadership and playmaking abilities.

It was expected that Colorado would lose a plethora of players to the NCAA transfer portal after a disappointing 3-9 season.

Coach Prime had to make the linebacker room a need after seeing players such as Mantrez Walker, Shaun Myers, and Reginald Hughes leave the program.

Additionally, Colorado lost senior linebacker Jeremiah Brown, who declared for the 2026 NFL Draft following his last year of eligibility.

In addition to visiting UCF and Oklahoma, Lampron held offers from several other universities. The All-MAC conference first-team linebacker was also contacted by Clemson.

He joins two high school recruits from Colorado's 2026 class that they are very excited about in Carson Crawford and Rodney Colton Jr.

Considering the mass exodus of defensive players from the program, it's interesting to see Prime's approach to the transfer portal this season.

These guys aren't looking for P4 players who didn't get playing time at bigger schools. Regardless of the school, they are attacking the portal for production instead, which is refreshing to see.
