Deion Sanders has a ton of production to replace at wide receiver this fall. Gone are Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Will Sheppard, Colorado's four leading receivers from a year ago. That's over 3200 yards and 32 touchdowns gone.

There's plenty of talent in the room, but talent doesn't always equate to production, so the WR room is one of the bigger question marks for the Buffaloes as they have begun preparations for the season with the opening of fall camp this week.

One of the guys angling for a prominent role in the offense, and a guy who should be in line for a breakout season, is junior wide receiver Omarion Miller. During Wednesday's practice, Miller showed why so many have projected him to take a starring role in Boulder this season.

Miller gets a one-on-one ball thrown his way and he goes up and makes a play, hauling in an acrobatic catch. He had no problem letting the DB in coverage know about it, either.

Omarion Miller is heading for a breakout season

The video doesn't show who the quarterback is who made the throw, but in an earlier practice, you could see the quick chemistry that has been built between Miller and Liberty transfer QB Kaidon Salter.

Many around the program have been sounding the alarm for the upcoming breakout season from Miller all offseason. He looks to be in line to be one of the leading receivers for Colorado this season, regardless of who wins the starting QB job. Miller has caught 21 passes for 450 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his first two seasons in Boulder.

Despite losing so much talent from a year ago, the Buffaloes, as they have consistently done in the Coach Prime era, found plenty of replacement talent. Natural progression of returning players like Miller and Dre'lon Miller will help, but Sanders dipped into the Transfer Portal and added talented players like Joseph Williams (588 yards, 5 TDs at Tulsa), Sincere Brown (1028 yards, 12 TDs at Campbell), and Hykeem Williams (187 yards, 1 TD at Florida State).

This is a talented room, but not all that proven. Miller and Miller have some experience, but will take on much more prominent roles. Williams was solid at Tulsa, but this is a big step up. Sincere Brown is a former FBS player, but has done his damage at the FCS level at Campbell - will that translate to the Big 12? Williams is a former high-level recruit who has yet to be a difference-maker in college.

Chances are a couple of those guys will turn into playmakers for Colorado. Omarion Miller seems like the safest bet to break out.
