Deion Sanders just saw one of his players win the Heisman Trophy, but apparently, he's not allowed to enjoy the moment with Travis Hunter. Nope. He still has to hear his name come up in rumors about leaving Colorado for the NFL.

The latest came from Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman, who pitched Coach Prime as Mike McCarthy's replacement in the Metroplex.

“I could see it,” Aikman said to TMZ Sports. “First of all, if Deion were to get hired whether it’s in Dallas or anywhere in the NFL — he gets hired because he’s a good football coach first and foremost. But secondly, I do know that Jerry is a world class marketer. Deion obviously is not far behind that, and I think if you were to put the two together it would be quite interesting. I think there’s some compelling reasons to why Jerry might have an interest. Deion’s done a great job there in Boulder, and I think when he says, ‘Hey, I’ve put the kickstand down,’ that’s simply alerting everyone that if you want him, you’re gonna have to pay for him, which is not a surprise either.

“I do think that Deion could be enticed especially with his son Shedeur Sanders moving on and going to the NFL. … They're not welded to the ground , you can raise them.”

Aikman is an ESPN employee and could simply be trying to sell the product. ESPN doesn't have the Big 12, so most analysts under that umbrella push the Coach Prime leaving narrative.

He's also a forever Cowboys fan who wants to see something better than what McCarthy has been giving the franchise.

Perhaps it's just a compliment and shouldn't be seen as rat poison. It's just that the narrative has been so prevalent for so long that it's hard not to have a visceral reaction.
