The transfer portal strikes again.
As expected, the Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team is already seeing roster movement, with sophomore guard Courtney Anderson and freshman Harrison Carrington opting to enter the portal.
Anderson, a 6-foot-5 guard, showed flashes of potential in his two seasons with the Buffs but struggled to carve out a consistent role in a deep backcourt. Carrington, a promising young wing, saw limited action as a freshman but was viewed as a long-term piece. Their departures aren’t exactly shocking, but they do leave the Buffs with some holes to fill.
I wrote earlier this week that CU would likely lose some key players now that the portal is open. Anderson and Carrington are just the beginning.
Tad Boyle has navigated these waters before, and with Colorado’s rise in the Big 12, the Buffs should be an attractive destination for incoming transfers. The staff has proven they can land talent, so while Anderson and Carrington moving on stings, it’s all part of the game now.
