Travis Hunter has been dealing with a viral firestorm of fans clamoring for the Heisman winner to leave his fiancée due to unsubstantiated rumors about her past. Deion Sanders stuck up for his Heisman winner ahead of the 2024 Alamo Bowl against BYU.
Coach Prime repeatedly claimed that Hunter has a blessed life, though he didn't reference the fiancee situation.
“I don’t know about the bull junk. I think everything is great,” Deion Sanders said. “He has a Heisman Trophy at the crib. He’s projected to be the first or second pick, no later than the third. I don’t know where the bull junk comes in at. I think it’s all a blessing. Things that you may count as stressing is still a blessing. And I think he’s headed in the right direction.”
The situation got so volatile online that rapper Bow Wow weighed in on it, albeit doing so while uninformed.
"I was once young. I was making a lot of money," Bow Wow said. "And I know how this sh*t go. What we are doing is waking you up, young brother."
Bow Wow was replying to an NBA Centel post on Twitter in which Hunter's fiancee was falsely accused of commenting inappropriately on NBA star Anthony Edwards's post. He got "Centel'd," if you will.
Sanders isn't seeing this as a big deal now, but you'll surely hear from him if he thinks Hunter isn't in a good situation. Coach Prime has never explicitly said or hinted at anything implying that yet.
