Deion Sanders begins feud with new media company after breaking industry news
Deion Sanders broke some industry news he wasn't supposed to: the parting of ways between On3 and pro-Colorado voice Phillip Dukes. It's unclear as of this writing if Dukes is still with On3.
"What’s really going on? My man Phillip Dukes is a free agent I just heard," Coach Prime tweeted. "This young brother is truly talented, smart, relational & will work his butt off. Networks & media outlets please check him out. On3, what’s really going on? God bless you my brother."
On3 founder Shannon Terry didn't enjoy Sanders' call-out and told the Buffs head coach to "mind his own plate."
"Coach Deion Sanders, with all due respect, as my mother and father told me growing up, 'mind your own plate,'" Terry tweeted. "Dukes and I had a great conversation this morning about what was best for On3 and his career. We are good and have a plan."
At the end of the day, even if Sanders has the story wrong, he is just hyping up Dukes and aiming to get him hired by another publication. Just as he'll support any player, regardless of the situation, he'll support a media member who's righteous (and perhaps a tad pro "Prime Time") in his coverage.
Phillip Dukes a logical addition at DNVR Sports, a favorite publication of Deion Sanders
DNVR Sports has been adding journalists Sanders is fond of, including former Coloradoan reporter Scott Procter. Dukes would be a perfect fit if he wants to be part of "Prime Time" in Boulder and be present on a more regular basis.
Clearly, Coach Prime wouldn't hate having him around.
DNVR continuing to build would be a potential sign "Prime Time" isn't going anywhere and he's in Colorado for the long-haul; beyond when his sons, Shilo and Shedeur, and Travis Hunter, still wearing the black and gold.
